Volunteer registration is for:

Coaches

Team Managers

Locker Room Monitors

Board Members

Anyone else in contact with CHA players on the ice or in the locker room.

You must have a USA hockey number for the 2025-2026 season to register.

To do this: go to usahockey.com and click on "Become a Member" on the upper right side of the website.

Your USA Hockey Registration confirmation email will give you links to both SafeSport and Background Screenings. You can also use the instructions below to complete.

Use the Register link on the CHA website under the registration tab.

Background checks are done every 2 years.

Go to USA Hockey's Background Screen page and click on "Click here to begin a new Background Screen"

Go to the USAH MyHockeyHQ Portal Login and sign in using your new membership number and password. Once logged in, you will see your My Member HQ home page

Your home page will tell you if your Safe Sport training has been completed and when it expired or will expire. Safe Sport training must be done annually.

If you need to complete your Safe Sport training, click on "Go to SafeSport Training" to complete.

Once your background check and SafeSport training are complete, you are almost done! The last steps are to complete online coaching modules and to complete a Coaching Education Program Certification Clinic (CEP) by December 31st each season.

• Complete the online age-specific module(s) for the age level of play you are coaching. (Cost is $20 for the 6u/8u module all others are $25. All modules only need to be completed once per age level. Must be completed PRIOR to participating in any team activities and cannot be added to a roster until completed).

Coaching Education Program Certification Clinic Requirements (Must be completed before Dec. 31 each season)

• Find, register and attend the required certification clinic. The Cost is $65. You can only attend one clinic per season and all coaches must enter USA Hockey's Coaching Education Program at the 6U/8U clinic if coaching at the Learn To Play/Learn To Skate/6U/8U classification or Level 1 if they are coaching 10U classification and above. You can take clinics from June 15th-Dec. 15th each season.
