    Calumet Hockey Association

    Epidemic order explanation

    Dear Members,

With the extension of the Epidemic order, there are some notable revisions.  We are allowed to have skill sessions so we will be opening up the rink on a limited basis.  We have uploaded Saturday's schedule, a new maha update letter explaining the change along with the new guidelines for the Colosseum.

This is completely voluntary for the players and coaches.

2020-2021 Season Update / Final Registration Notice

All, as we begin the 2020-2021 Calumet hockey season, please keep in mind the following.

Registration deadline has been extended to FRIDAY OCT. 9th.

UNREGISTERED PLAYERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO SKATE AT ANY TIME DURING ANY ASSOCIATION TRY-OUT, PRACTICE, OR GAME.

Please see below for registration information, or visit https://go.teamsnap.com/forms/245010

There have been a number of questions about face coverings, season cancellations, etc.

Q: What if the season cancels, will there be a refund?

A: If the season ends prior to 12/15, a refund of 2/3 of payment will be refunded. If the season ends after 12/15, but prior to 2/15, a 1/3 refund will be issued. No refund will be issued if the season is ongoing after 2/15.

Q: Will my player, with or without a health condition be required to wear a face covering

A: Currently yes, the State of Michigan and the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association both require all on-ice players, coaches, and referees to have facial coverings. While this may change this is the current policy.

Guidance on what facial coverings are acceptable is provided by MAHA on their website.

MAHA Face Covering and Registration Reminder!

2020-2021 Calumet Hockey Association Participation Survey

For CHA Season planning it is ESSENTIAL THAT WE GAGE INTENDED PLAYER PARTICIPATION. PLEASE COMPLETE THIS FORM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THE DEADLINE FOR PARTICIPATION IS SEPT 18.

All, as you may have heard the 2020-2021 Calumet Hockey Association season will see several changes related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Gretchen Whitmer's executive orders and guidance by the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA).

While there are many requirements for safe return to play, the primary effects of these factors have resulted in changes on the ground to our hockey program:

    • All associations should designate a person or group, to serve as a liaison with your ice rink facility, as well as notifying all applicable parties if a positive test is confirmed
    • All teams should designate a person who will be responsible for responding to COVID-19 concerns
    • Notify any teams or players that shared ice sessions with the infected player over the previous 14 days
    • Teams should not be penalized for forfeiting games due to COVID-19 concerns
    • Do not use benches during practice sessions
    • Players need to maintain 6 feet of separation whenever possible during practices
    • Coaches and players shall wear facial coverings at all times during on-ice practices

We recognize that our parents and players may see difficulty in compliance with these requirements by the State and MAHA, but they are requirements. We are asking for patience and positivity as much as possible as we deal with these difficult challenges. For more information please see:
    https://www.maha.org/news_article/show/1121369

Please (one per Family) take the participation survey prior to 9/18 at:

Auto Pro 2017-18 Bantam B State Champs

Congratulations to the Auto Pro Bantam B State Champs.

The team went undefeated in the tournament which was played in Hancock this past weekend, and won the championship in convincing fashion 7-1 over Alpena.

The team played an unselfish brand of hockey that was fun to watch. The HoCo was packed with Calumet people cheering on the champs.
