The Association is fortunate to announce Monday October 29th, USA Hockey ADM Regional Manager and former MTU Head Coach, Bob Mancini, will be at our expense and will be running our practices that evening. During that evening we will be running age group practices instead of team practices in order for every player and coach to benefit from this experience. We are not considering these practices optional. This can be a great learning experience as a player, a coach and a parent. There will also be an off-ice session in the ballroom between the all squirt and the all peewee ice session. After the final ice session of the evening we will have a coach's meeting with Bob in the ballroom where there will be pizzas and sodas. We are asking all of our coaches to attend their slotted ice time and to be engaged and ready to take notes. We would also like you to encourage parents to attend the practices as Bob will be available the last 10 minutes of practice to field questions/concerns. We are grateful and excited at the opportunity to learn and grow as coaches and as an association and look forward to seeing you there.
The Calumet Hockey Association is proud to announce on Monday October 29th, we will be welcoming USA Hockey ADM Regional Manager Bob Mancini in running our associations hockey practices. Practices will be run as age group practices or all squirt, all pee-wee, and all bantam. There will also be off-ice training for squirts and pee-wees in the ballroom between their scheduled ice times. Take note that these practices are not considered optional. We encourage all parents to attend their child's practices and bring questions/concerns as Bob will be meeting with parents during the final 10-15 minutes of each practice time. We are extremely excited at this opportunity for our kids, coaches, and parents, to learn and grow, in the great sport of ice hockey.
The Calumet Hockey Association and Calumet Township have launched a major phase of the capital campaign for infrastructure improvements to the Calumet Colosseum. We are seeking matching funds for a $90,000 Michigan DNR Recreation Passport Grant that will allow for installation of new boards and glass. You can show your support by sponsoring a section of the boards or making a general contribution. More information is available in the attachments below.
Please contact any hockey board member to find out what sections remain available for sponsorship.
Thanks for your support in keeping youth hockey as affordable as possible and continuing the Calumet Hockey tradition.
Congratulations to the Auto Pro Bantam B State Champs.
The team went undefeated in the tournament which was played in Hancock this past weekend, and won the championship in convincing fashion 7-1 over Alpena.
The team played an unselfish brand of hockey that was fun to watch. The HoCo was packed with Calumet people cheering on the champs.
