Gipp Mite Tourney

The Calumet Hockey Association will be hosting the annual Gipp Mite Tournment for all 8U Mite teams. The tournament will be held on the weekend of February 24-26 at the Gipp Arena in Laurium.

Mohawk Legion Squirts win 25th Annual David Yeo Memorial Tournament

The CHA Mohawk Legion Squirt B team recently won the 25th annual David Yeo Memorial Tourney on January 7-9, 2012. The Mohawk Legion team defeated OK Industrial (Iron Range) in the Championship game.

Team members include Anton Kristapovich, Brent Loukus, Alex Mattila, Peter Larson, Nolan Jenich, Zephaniah Korpinen, Spencer Koskiniemi, Scott Loukus and Jordyn Rowe.

The head coach is Bill Larson, and assistant coaches are Adam Loukus, Keith Jenich and Josh Loukus.

Finlandia University Goalie Clinics

Finlandia University will be putting on FREE goaltender clinics for ALL ASSOCIATION GOALTENDERS. The clinics will be run by Gary Kruzich, who is the Assistant Coach/Goalie Coach for the Finlandia University men's hockey team.

Please check the schedule to see all times that are available in Calumet. Until the Gipp arena opens, times will change from week to week. Upon the Gipp opening, we hope to have a consistent time each week. Please check the 'Schedules' page for dates and times.

Volunteer Sign-Up

Calumet Hockey is using the DIBS system to schedule and manage our volunteer opportunities including hours in the concession stand. To get started, please do the following:

STEP 1: CLICK HERE to activate your volunteer account. This activation prepares your TST Account to become a user of the Volunteer Tool. This activation is required for all families with skaters that are Squirt age or older and will be volunteering in the Colosseum concession stand. Concession hours at the Gipp Arena for mites, including mite selects, will be scheduled independently. When registering, please do not count the skaters in your family that are mites.

Scheduling FYI: We are currently upgrading our scheduling software to a new program, MaxScheduling. The software will still create a PDF schedule, but will not be in the Excel "Block" format that has been used the last few years. The software will also fully integrate with the Calendar feature on the website, and will place all schedule information on each individual team page. Please stay posted for the full change-over coming soon!!
