Volunteer Opportunities

The Calumet Hockey Association has a need for volunteers to help maintain the Calumet Armory.  This includes repairing the boards, the glass, the Zamboni, the game clock, and any other areas that may need attention.  Generally, work bees are scheduled in the spring and/or the fall and are posted on the Calumet Armory Marquee Sign.

Game Volunteers:

As a member of the Calumet Hockey Association, it is each teams’ responsibility to have parents of the home team learn to operate the game clock and complete the score sheet.   If every parent were to volunteer, his or her contribution would only amount to a couple of games per season.

Concession:

Each family is obligated to work 6 or more hours per registered player in the concession stand.  Each team is scheduled once the team rosters are complete. In the event that the family is unable to meet its obligation, each hour not fulfilled by the end of the season will be billed @ $20.00/hour and must be paid prior to next year’s registration.

The hours of operation are from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday hours are 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. These hours may vary depending on the scheduling of games. Denise Spagnotti and Chris Patrick are responsible for scheduling the teams for the operation of the stand.  It is the responsibility of the manager of each team to see that the schedule is filled out completely and returned promptly to the concession stand.  If there is a scheduling conflict with teams being out of the Copper Country, it needs to be brought to the attention of either Denise or Chris in order to insure continuous operation of the stand.
